The Roswell Bass Club was established in the 1970s and is one of the oldest Bass Clubs in the State of Georgia. The Club currently consists of 20+ members of boaters and non boaters. We are affiliated with the Georgia Bass Federation and FLW. All the members of the club are members of the Federation and of B.A.S.S. The purpose of the club is to improve the members fishing skills while enjoying the friendships and havng fun.

We are competitive fisherman but do support each other in learning more about the elusive bass. The club fishes 12 tournaments per year in the North Georgia area along with occasional trips to South Carolina/  Most of the tournaments are one day events held on Saturdays and two day tournaments in the spring and fall.

In 2008, the club will fish Lakes Hartwell (SC), Lanier, Russell , Jocasse, Keowee, Sinclair and Clarks Hill (2 day). The club also fields a team for the Georgia Bass Fed
eration and FLW TOP Six Tournaments. We are also involved in the community by hosting at least one Kid's Fishing Day per year. We have a Club Picnic for the family members along with a Holiday Party at a club member's home for the fisherman and their spouses.

Often the question is asked do I need to be an expert fisherman, own a boat, or have 10 rods/reels? The answer is no, just a love of fishing and the outdoors. You can join and learn how to be better at fishing, as you would be teamed up with another fisherman in the tournament draw each month. You will learn more by watching others and fishing with a variety of fisherman.

The other question  Are you guys really competitive??? Yes, we do compete with each other, but in a friendly sort of way. We share ideas, fishing techniques, places to fish, but everyone wants to win the big fish, or total pounds at each tournament. It gives us a chance to keep score.

At each monthly meeting we let the ones who caught the biggest and most tell others about how etc. Most of the time we get the real story.
